Our unique treatment method requires creative ways to tell our story. New ownership in 2003 had spokesperson Pat O’Day, also an owner, deliver impactful testimonials on the radio. We’ve used broadcast almost exclusively because it allows us to hit potential patients with emotion, urgency and frequency. Last year we tested in-flight magazine advertising that targeted the business traveler, but fell way short of expectations. Clearly our printed message needed refinement.
In May of 2008, we partnered with northwest advertising executive John Browning (Browning+Browning, Inc.) to assist with a campaign for Alaska Air in-flight magazine. The challenge, find a way to produce a print ad that had the emotional impact of our radio and television commercials. Four months and several photo shoots later, John has produced some of the finest print images that Schick has ever had! As a Schick graduate, John brings his life experience before and after treatment to the drawing board. Over 750,000 copies a month are distributed in Alaska Airlines planes, and information calls are “flying” in.
